DISEC: Conflict in Yemen

Disarmament and International Security

Committee of DISEC  deals with topics that center around disarmament, global
issues, and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out
solutions to the challenges in the international security regime. This year in
HASTRAIN we will be focusing on, The Conflict in Yemen. Yemen, a country located
on the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, sharing a border with Saudi
Arabia and Oman. Yemen has been vulnerable for years, even before the current
conflict, around half the population lived below the poverty line, and the country faced
chronic instability, weak governance, underdevelopment, unemployment and hunger.
In fact, that is based on many reasons from the past, Yemen still struggles
many political instability and internal conflicts since the revolution in 2011. The
conflict in Yemen has been going on since 2014.
I hope that these two days,we will make quality discussions and achieve good
results with the efforts of your esteemed participants.
